Assist in the identification of possible health hazards, <br />related to a hazardous materials incident, which may <br />affect a food commodity, or the production of that food <br />commodity. <br />C. Provide support for law enforcement activities. <br />2.3.13 Department of Insurance <br />a. Enforce rules/regulations covering the design, <br />construction, location and operation of equipment for <br />liquefied petroleum gas storage, handling and intrastate <br />transporting by tank truck, tank trailer or pipeline. <br />b. Enforce regulations covering the manufacture of <br />hazardous materials. <br />C. Enforce rules and regulations for the intrastate <br />transportation of hazardous materials. <br />d. Provide personnel to determine the cause of an <br />incident; conformance with the Department of Insurance <br />regulations. <br />2.3.14 Hazardous Materials Task Force <br />The State Hazardous Materials Task Force has been formed <br />to provide a mechanism for the coordinated response by state <br />agencies to hazardous materials emergencies that are beyond <br />the capability of local governments. The task force also <br />provides technical assistance and information for incidents <br />which require state or federal involvement. The Chairman of <br />the task force shall serve as the focal point for coordinating <br />state response and support to local government. Membership <br />on the task force includes the state agencies whose <br />responsibilities are outlined in this section. <br />2.3.15 Transportation Authority <br />The Transportation Authority will provide emergency bus <br />transportation to assist in the evacuation of hospitals, nursing <br />homes, and schools, as well as the general public. <br />Indian River County Emergency Plan for Hazardous Materials Page 19 <br />
