operations and establish communications with involved <br />county EOCs. <br />7.2.3 On -Scene Command Post <br />In the event of an emergency, the first responding unit at the <br />site may establish an On -Scene Command Post. The <br />Incident Commander at the On -Scene Command Post will <br />be the Senior Responding Officer and he/she shall <br />coordinate and control On -scene emergency operations. <br />7.3 EQUIPMENT & RESOURCES <br />The Indian River County Department of Emergency Services, Fire/Rescue <br />Division; acquired a 31 foot Special Ops/HazMat Trailer in 1998. This <br />trailer has a full complement of equipment available for responding to <br />emergencies involving the release of hazardous materials. In addition to <br />the basic inventory, a small sample of the equipment includes: <br />Level "A" & Level "B" suits <br />800 MHz radios, VHF handheld radios <br />Chlorine "A" & "B" kits <br />- Lap top computer <br />- Multi -gas gas detectors <br />- Recovery drums <br />- Resource manuals (assorted) <br />7.3.1 Laboratory Analytical Support <br />The Indian River County Health Department has a limited <br />capability for laboratory and analytical support of emergency <br />operations in the event of a major chemical release.
