Wednesday, November 6, 1985 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission <br />Chambers, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Wednesday, <br />November 6, 1985, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. Present were Patrick B. <br />Lyons, Chairman; Don C. Scurlock, Jr., Vice Chairman; Richard N. <br />Bird; and Margaret C. Bowman. Absent was Commissioner William C. <br />Wodtke, Jr., who was out of town. Also present were Michael J. <br />Wright, County Administrator; L. S. "Tommy" Thomas, Intergovern- <br />mental Relations Director; Charles P. Vitunac, Attorney to the <br />Board of County Commissioners; and Virginia Hargreaves, Deputy <br />Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order and led the Pledge <br />of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />Chairman Lyons informed the Board that the Judges have <br />arranged to recess their courts to come over here at 11:30 A.M. <br />and talk about the jail overcrowding situation, and he would like <br />to add this as a time certain item. Secondly, he has received a <br />letter from Michael O'Grady, President of Indian River Memorial <br />Hospital, Inc., requesting that the Chairman of the Board write a <br />letter to the DHRS indicating support of the variance they are <br />seeking for the ALS system, and he would like to add this to the <br />agenda also. <br />Commissioner Bird asked if the item on discussion of jail <br />construction would be at heard at 11:30 A.M. also, and this was <br />agreed. <br />Administrator Wright requested that award of the bid on the <br />citrus crop from the grove purchased by the.Utilities Department <br />be added to today's agenda. <br />Attorney Vitunac wished to announce that an abandonment of a <br />s �9�5 BOCK fA1i "7 <br />
