The primary purpose of this project is for maintenance dredging; <br />however, it is a necessary component of the purposed plan for the <br />development of a boat basin and access channel at the adjacent <br />River Run project. The River Run boat basin and access channel <br />is currently proposed to connect to the Sembler boat basin, <br />thereby preserving important habitat communities within the -- <br />adjacent river area. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />It is recommended that the Board of County Commissioners author- <br />ize staff to forward a letter of no objection to the proposed <br />project. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously <br />authorized staff to forward a letter of no <br />objection to the DER on Floravon Shores Subdivision. <br />H. PINTO, I ECTOR SUBJECT: AWARD OF BID FOR MODIFI- <br />UTILITY SERVICES 1r CATIONS TO WHISPERING <br />I PALMS PUMPING STATION <br />FROM: JEFFREY K. BARTON, ASSISTANT C)' <br />DIRECTOR, UTILITY SERVICES <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />On October 24, 1985, bids were opened for the modifications to the <br />Whispering Palms Pumping Station. There were two bids: <br />1. Ted Myers Contracting Co. <br />2. Collee Mechanical, Inc. <br />$25,500.00 <br />$31,567.00 <br />The attached letter from our engineer gives a summary of the bids and <br />recommends award to the low bidder.
