........... <br />NOV 21 195 <br />�ocr, 62 : 820 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, Commissioner.Bowman being absent, <br />the Board unanimously (4-0) approved the contract <br />with Local 2201 of the International Association of <br />Fire Fighters, as recommended by the Negotiating <br />Committee. <br />Each of the Commissioners expressed their appreciation for <br />the cooperation and effort put forth during negotiations of the <br />first Firefighters' contract with Indian River County, and <br />believed that future contracts would only get easier. <br />Bill Tripp felt the most important thing is to keep <br />communications lines open and noted that they will come back to <br />the table next year with regard to salaries. He reported that <br />900 of the firefighters took part in ratifying the contract last <br />night, as 10o are on either vacation or sick leave. <br />Chairman Lyons commended Mr. Tripp, Mr. Dean and the <br />negotiating team for their efforts in coming to terms and <br />avoiding arbitration. <br />CONTRACT IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK <br />There being no further business, on Motion duly made and <br />seconded, the meeting adjourned at 9:15 o'clock A.M. <br />ATTEST: <br />Clerk <br />
