If he goes ahead and takes the risk, he did not <br />believe he could force us to issue a permit, because otherwise we <br />would have denied him right off. He felt the County is safe. <br />Commissioner Wodtke hoped that we would not encourage any <br />additional traffic or the widening of 6th Avenue, because to him, <br />the extension of Indian River Boulevard to either 8th or 12th <br />Street is going to be the answer to the problem. <br />Chairman Scurlock agreed we should be cautious and not <br />encourage people to build and occupy when we cannot back it up <br />with road construction. <br />Commissioner Bird asked if a bike lane was planned for 6th <br />Avenue between 12th and 17th Streets, and Director Keating <br />advised that the County is working on a plan for bike lanes for <br />the entire county and he would check to see if one is planned for <br />6th Avenue. <br />Chairman Scurlock opened the Public Hearing and asked if <br />anyone wished to be heard in this matter. There were none. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously closed <br />the Public Hearing. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Ordinance 86-2, approving the Fessel request to <br />rezone 1.1 acres from C-1, Commercial District to <br />RM -10, Multiple -Family Residential District. <br />28 <br />
