JA BOOK 63 FnE 339 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously approved <br />the agreement between Indian River County and the <br />Indian River Community Mental Health Center, Inc. for <br />evaluation of prisoners, and authorized the Chairman's <br />signature. <br />AGREEMENT <br />THIS AGREEMENT made this 22nd _, day of January ,1986 , by and <br />between the BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, <br />1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, 32960, (the "County") and INDIAN RIVER <br />COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH CENTER, INC., 800 Avenue H, Fort Pierce, Florida, <br />33450, (the "Contractor"). <br />I. Scope of Services <br />A. The Contractor will provide any inmate of the Indian River County <br />Jail referred to Contractor by the County Jail's Medical Officer the following <br />services as required by such inmate and authorized by such medical officer: <br />(1) Preliminary evaluation <br />(2) Psychiatric evaluation <br />(3) Individual counseling <br />(4) Chemotherapy <br />(5) Crises intervention <br />B. Contractor shall supply, at its own expense, all injectable medica- <br />tions prescribed by the Contractor's physician. <br />C. Contractor shall provide in-service training for jail personnel <br />concerning mental health procedures and practices upon the request of the <br />Jail Administrator of the County Jail. _ <br />II. Time of Performance <br />-The Contractor agrees to begin the above described services on 1st day <br />o -f February, --1986 . and to perform such services in a professional and <br />timely manner. Such services shall be provided 24 hours a day, seven days <br />a week (Monday through Sunday). <br />III. Compensation <br />The Contractor shall provide all required services and medications, <br />as described above, at a maximum charge of one thousand two hundred fifty <br />dollars ($1,250.00) per month. This charge includes all equipment, supplies, <br />insurance and all salaries or other compensation for Contractor's employees. <br />It is expressly agreed that under no circumstances shall the total sum paid <br />pursuant to this Agreement exceed fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00). <br />IV. Indemnification Against Claims <br />The Contractor is and shall be an independent Contractor and operator, <br />responsible to all parties for all of its acts or omissions; -and Indian River <br />County shall in no way be responsible for such acts or omissions. The Con- <br />tractor shall and will indemnify and hold harmless the County from and against <br />any and all liability, claims, demands, damages, expenses, fees, fines, penal- <br />- 12 <br />
