PINTO SUBJECT: <br />DIRECTOR <br />UTILITY SERVICES <br />BID #271 COMBINATION 'N,CUUM & <br />HIGH VELOCITY HYDRAULIC SEWER <br />& CATCH BASIN CLEANER TRUCK <br />FROM: JEFFREY K-,-B'ARTO�a'',/r V REFERENCES: <br />ASSISTANT UTILIT I <br />DIRECTOR, UTILITY SERVICES <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />On November 21, 1985 a pre-bid meeting was held with five (5) potential <br />bidders present. On December 5, 1985 when bids were opened only (1) <br />bid was received from Interstate Equipment for $108,342.00. This item <br />had beenpreviously bid on May 21, 1985 and at that time Interstate had <br />bid $104,890.00. The company explained at a conference on January 2, 1986 <br />that the price difference was due to the increase in material costs plus <br />the truck body was a 1986 instead of 1985 as originally bid in May, 1985. <br />Interstate agreed to absorb the price increase except for $1,000.00 <br />which is the increased cost of the 1986 truck body. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Utility staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners authorize <br />the purchase of the Combination Vacuum & High Velocity Hydraulic Sewer <br />& Catch Basin Cleaning Truck for Interstate Equipment of Ft. Lauderdale <br />at the negotiated price of $105,890,00 with funding; authorized in the <br />FY85-86 Utilities Budget under renewal and replacement. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wodtke, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, Commissioner Lyons having left <br />the meeting, the Board unanimously (4-0) awarded IRC <br />Bid #271 in the amount of $105,890 to Interstate <br />Equipment of Ft.
