FEB 12 1986 BOOK 63 PnE 572 <br />Administrator Wright advised we will be operating under the <br />Fellsmere ordinance, and County Attorney Vitunac assured the <br />Board that there is no problem with this. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bowman,that we cooperate with the <br />City of Fellsmere re their animal control problem <br />as described by the Administrator. <br />Commissioner Wodtke inquired if any fees collected would <br />belong to the City of Fellsmere, and this was confirmed. <br />Chairman Scurlock noted that the County has only two Animal <br />Control Officers for the entire county, and they react on an <br />"as -call" basis. If the ordinance were strictly enforced all <br />over the county, the Humane Society would not have enough space. <br />Commissioner Bowman asked how the City and County ordinances <br />correspond, and Attorney Vitunac advised that the county ordi- <br />nance is effective in the city, but if there is an inconsistency <br />with the City's ordinance, the city ordinance would prevail. He <br />believed the ordinances are quite similar. <br />Commissioner Wodtke asked if county animal tags will be <br />accepted in Fellsmere, and Mayor Turner confirmed that while the <br />City does sell their own tags, they will honor a county tag. - <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />It was voted on and carried unanimously. <br />Chairman Scurlock next reported that Mayor Turner has come <br />up with an aggressive approach to pave streets in Fellsmere and <br />also put in some drainage. The County already has approved one <br />expenditure for about $19,000 for a culvert, and now the Mayor is <br />asking for assistance from our staff to come up with an assess- <br />ment approach for the proposed paving.
