SECTION 01550 <br /> ACCESS ROADS, PARKING AREAS <br /> AND USE OF PUBLIC STREETS <br /> 1.1 GENERAL <br /> A. Provide all temporary construction roads, walks and parking areas required <br /> during construction and for use of emergency vehicles. Design and maintain <br /> temporary roads and parking areas so they are fully usable in all Weather <br /> conditions. <br /> B. Prevent interference with traffic and the OWNER's operations on existing roads. <br /> Indemnify and save harmless the OWNER from any expenses caused by <br /> CONTRACTOR's operations over these roads. <br /> C. Roadways damaged by CONTRACTOR shall be restored to their original <br /> condition by the CONTRACTOR subject to approval of the OWNER or <br /> ENGINEER. <br /> D. Remove temporary roads, walks and parking areas prior to final acceptance and <br /> return the ground to its original condition, unless otherwise required by the <br /> Contract Documents. <br /> 1.2 USE OF PUBLIC STREETS <br /> The use of public streets and alleys shall be such as to provide a minimum of <br /> inconvenience to the public and to other traffic. Any earth or other excavated <br /> material spilled from trucks shall be removed immediately by the CONTRACTOR <br /> and the streets cleaned to the satisfaction of the owner. <br /> 1.3 USE OF PUBLIC STREETS FOR HAUL ROADS <br /> A. Prior to construction, the CONTRACTOR shall designate all proposed haul <br /> roads to be used during the life of the project. Any earth or other materials <br /> spilled from trucks shall be removed by the CONTRACTOR and streets <br /> cleaned to the satisfaction of the Owner. He further shall be responsible for <br /> repairs to any damages caused by his operations, prior to final payment. <br /> B. All trucks carrying earth shall be covered While moving with an appropriate <br /> tarpaulin. Should trucks hauling earth fail to cover their loads, the <br /> CONTRACTOR will be given two (2) Written warnings, after which the <br /> CONTRACTOR shall pay a fine of $5g per uncovered truck to the owner <br /> When invoked by the owner to owner's Engineer. All cleanup shall be the <br /> responsibility of the CONTRACTOR. <br /> C.
