Mr. Thomas stated that he was <br />then led to believe that he might not even be getting any <br />increase because of the fact that his rating was knocked down. <br />Chairman Scurlock stated that he again would recommend that <br />a grievance be filed. <br />Mr. Halliday noted that he did not find out that he may not <br />be getting an increase before he signed his evaluation, and asked <br />if it is too late to file a grievance. <br />Discussion continued re Mr. Halliday's evaluation being <br />whited out and changed, and Chairman Scurlock asked if that could <br />be caused by the department head disagreeing with the approach <br />the evaluator takes. He noted that had happened to him in the <br />school system where someone said whoever evaluated him was just <br />too liberal. <br />Paul Peck asked if the Chairman felt that is a good approach <br />to an evaluation, and the Chairman stated he was not saying it <br />was a good approach but that he knew it has happened. <br />Commissioner Bird asked the Administrator if that is our <br />procedure, and Administrator Wright confirmed that can happen, <br />but if someone is dissatisfied, they should talk to someone about <br />it. <br />Mr. Cochran noted that the same thing happened to him; his <br />evaluation was changed and lowered. <br />Chairman Scurlock asked the Administrator to check on this, <br />but the Administrator pointed out that we have a contract and if <br />people have a grievance, they need to follow that procedure. <br />The Chairman clarified that he was not talking about their <br />specifics; -he just wanted the Administrator to check the <br />evaluation procedure and how it is being implemented.
