FEB <br />2 6 <br />1986 <br />BOOK <br />3 <br />PA:- 765 <br />Chairman Scurlock noted <br />that he was not saying <br />do not <br />take <br />care of the roof, but that there shou.ld be a freeze on all other <br />items and they should be brought back to the Commission. He <br />pointed out that we are only halfway through the fiscal year. <br />Commissioner Lyons commented that the Board would just like <br />to help straighten out this situation; it is not a lack of faith <br />in the Administrator. <br />Administrator Wright did not have a problem with that, but <br />stated that he could tell the Board that we are still well within <br />budget. He also emphasized that no purchases have been made that <br />were not approved by the Board nor do we have any permanent <br />positions that were not authorized by the Board. <br />Commissioner Wodtke noted that we are now five months into <br />the fiscal year; he suggested we schedule a workshop, get out the <br />computer, and go through this just the same as in a budget <br />session to see just where we are. <br />The Chairman concurred and advised that he already had sent <br />a letter to the Administrator stating that we should have such a <br />workshop by the end of March. <br />Commissioner Wodtke felt we might find some capital items <br />still to be bid that we may have to hold off on, and Administra- <br />tor Wright advised that, as a matter of practice, the capital <br />items are held until the middle or end of the year. <br />Chairman Scurlock pointed out that the law says we can't <br />spend money we don't have. <br />Administrator Wright suggested that we go ahead and face the <br />Courthouse roof; leave the funding open; and staff will bring the <br />matter of the insurance back to the Board, but they do need some <br />time. <br />The Chairman agreed that we should let the Administrator get <br />all the facts and figures together and set up a workshop for the <br />end of March where we can come up with an approach. <br />Discussion returned to repair of the Courthouse roof, and <br />Commissioner Lyons expressed concern about having a galvanized <br />52 <br />
