Boor <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wodtke, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously approved <br />Option II and authorized Director Thomas to continue <br />with Riverfront on any needed maintenance until the <br />time a new firm is selected. <br />GOLF COURSE CONSTRUCTION BIDS <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 2/26/86: <br />TO: The Honorable Members of DATE: February 26, 1986 FILE: <br />the Board of County Commissioners <br />SUBJECT: Golf Course <br />Construction Bids <br />FROM: Michael Wright REFERENCES: <br />County Administrator <br />"SGL 6 _fid' <br />In an effort to bring construction costs of the Sandridge <br />Golf Course within acceptable limits, the two low bidders have <br />been asked to submit prices for removing certain items from the <br />contract. These items are detailed in the attached letter to <br />Guettler Construction Company. An identical letter was sent to <br />Prince Construction Company of Palmetto, Florida. <br />The bids will be received in my office Tuesday, March 4th <br />at 5:00 p.m. I will -present the prices and any additional informa- <br />tion at the Board meeting of March 5th. <br />Commissioner -Bird explained that in an attempt to bring the <br />construction of the golf course back within budget, they met with <br />the two low bidders and the architect and found that some changes <br />could be made and some items deleted. Each of the bidders were <br />sent a letter outlining these items, and we received those bids <br />this morning. However, there really has not been any chance to <br />analyze them to see which of the two firms has the lowest <br />figures, but it does appear that we have been successful in <br />getting the overall budget of the golf course down to less than <br />the original estimate of $1.3 million.
