In addition, he would report on a <br />quarterly -basis- with the District Board. They identified three <br />areas that needed to be reported back to the Commission on a <br />30 -day basis: <br />One is our existing fire rating. Presently we have a rating of 5 <br />and we met that by .13 points. Chief Allen is going to prepare a <br />report indicating what it will take to improve that rating and <br />then keep it: The second area is to prepare a capital budget for <br />5 years, and the third area will be the Chief's recommendations <br />for staff and reorganization structures. <br />Another item discussed is that Commissioner Lyons would go <br />ahead and work with the Chief with respect to the ALS and EMS to <br />come up with a specific protocol, and whatever is decided upon, <br />there should be strict adherence to it, and if not, some strict <br />disciplinary action. They also discussed who would handle the <br />union negotiations which are coming up shortly, and their <br />recommendation is for Attorney Vitunac to serve in that capacity. <br />Chairman Scurlock asked the Board for any further input <br />-- before this is all put together and brought back to the Board in <br />30 days. <br />APPOINTMENT TO BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENT <br />Commissioner Wodtke advised that he would be recommending <br />Steve Holmes to complete the term of Michael Wodtke on the Board <br />of Zoning Adjustment, District 4, and would introduce*Mr. Holmes <br />to the Board at the next meeting. <br />59 <br />
