They also understand that the fruit will <br />be sold by the standard bid procedure as was conducted in 1985. <br />Sexton Grove Service has also recommended that the flapgate <br />on the pump be repaired and a small pump placed near the pumphouse <br />to further lower the water table in the grove. <br />Commissioner Bird felt they have given us an estimated cost <br />for the normal care of the grove, but it actually will be billed <br />on a time and material basis. Intergovernmental Relations <br />Director Tommy Thomas confirmed that we had the same type of <br />agreement last year. <br />Commissioner Bird questioned whether we need major service <br />or minimal service on the grove, and Director Thomas anticipated <br />that this grove would be in operation for a number of years and <br />we are looking for maximum production. <br />Stephen Futch, County Agricultural Extension Agent, <br />explained that the grove's drainage problems must be solved if <br />the County plans on having productive groves over a period of <br />years. <br />10 <br />
