�e <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: All Municipalities, Transportation Providers, and Interested Parties <br />FROM: Phil Matson, AiCP <br />MPO Staff Director <br />DATE: November 10, 2015 <br />SUBJECT: TRANSPORTATION DISADVANTAGED ANNUAL PUBLIC <br />HEARING <br />To help local governments fulfill the functions of transportation disadvantaged planning. the <br />State Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged (CTD) requires that all counties appoint <br />a Designated Official Planning Agency (DOPA) The DOPA must fulfill responsibilities and <br />duties as outlined in Chapter 427, Florida Statutes, and Rule 41-2. For Indian River County, the <br />Metropolitan Planning Organization is designated as the County's DOPA. <br />As part of the statutory responsibilities, the Indian River County Metropolitan Planning <br />Organization appoints members to the Indian River County Transportation Disadvantaged Local <br />Coordinating Board (TDLCB) to assist in the coordination of transportation disadvantaged <br />services within the county. The purpose of the TDLCB is to identify local service needs and to <br />provide information, advice, direction, and support to the .Community Transportation <br />Coordinator. the Senior Resource Association, Inc <br />The TDLCB is required by the State Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged to hold <br />an annual public hearing in order to gather public input on transportation disadvantaged related <br />issues At this time, the Transportation Disadvantaged Local Coordinating Board (TDL_CB) is <br />inviting all interested citizens to a public hearing to discuss transportation disadvantaged issues <br />and to provide input to the Local Coordinating Board on transportation services (demand <br />response and fixed route) and unmet needs. <br />4 <br />
