PROCLAMATION 64 <br />DESIGNATING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER, 2015, AS <br />NATIONAL ADOPTION AWARENESS MONTH <br />WHEREAS, for more than a century, Children's Home Society of Florida has <br />upheld our legacy of transforming the lives of children and families; and <br />WHEREAS, on any given day ;approximately 125-175 children are awaiting <br />adoptions on the Treasure Coast and in the last three years over 350 children have <br />been given the gift of forever families; and <br />WHEREAS, Children's Home Society of Florida, Treasure Coast Division, works <br />diligently with the Department of Children & Families to ensure that every child has a <br />forever family; and <br />WHEREAS, children waiting for adoptive parents and families who have adopted <br />these children require and deserve community and agency support; and <br />WHEREAS, Children's Home Society of Florida, along with its community <br />partners, embraces opportunities that can potentially change the way society cares for <br />children and youth. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS, INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the month of November 2015, <br />be designated as <br />NATIONAL ADOPTION AWARENESS MONTH <br />in Indian River County. In honor of this event, we encourage community agencies, religious <br />organizations, businesses and others to celebrate adoption, honor families that grow through <br />adoption, further an awareness of the changes and issues in adoption, and focus attention on <br />those children who live in the shadow of an uncertain future while they await forever families. <br />Adopted this 17th day of November, 2015 <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, <br />INDI N RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Wesley S.
