He <br />advised that while the Sheriff's Department has a volunteer <br />chaplain who helps out in these cases, he felt that we need to <br />develop an organized system that comes to the assistance of the <br />victims and their families and offered his help in doing that. <br />AUTHORIZATION_ TO PURCHASE 12TH STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY, INDIAN RIVER <br />BOULEVARD SOUTHERLY EXTENSION <br />Commissioner Bird announced that he had filed a conflict of <br />interest in this matter as he is a property owner in Tropic <br />Villas North. DAVIS, P.E. ) <br />PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR <br />SUBJECT: 12TH STREET RIGHT OF WAY <br />INDIAN RIVER BOULEVARD PROJECT <br />FROM: mom, G.FIM: PSRA 4 REFERENCES: <br />RIGHT OF WAY AGENT <br />n'PCr`PTDMTnhT <br />The Tropic Villas North Homeowners Association, Inc. will not donate the <br />property requested nor will they accept an offer of $4.00 per square foot <br />for the 25' x 25' triangular property (313 sguare feet) which equates to <br />$1,252.00. <br />The attached letter indicates that they will settle for $5.00 per square <br />foot or $1,565.00 which is $313.00 more than our offer but is still less <br />than adding the cost of an appraisal. <br />In addition they are requesting we relocate 12 cabbage palm°trees which <br />are in the path of the 6th Avenue improvements. <br />Tropic Villas North will still need the approval of 88 of the 116 property <br />owners before ownership can be transferred to the county. <br />RECOMMENDATION & FUNDING <br />Staff requests authorization to purchase the 313 square foot property at <br />$5.00 per square foot = $1,565.00 and include the relocation of the 12 <br />cabbage palm trees as part of the Boulevard project. <br />Indian River Boulevard project #304-214-541-66.12 <br />56 <br />
