<br />1st Street S.W. and 43rd Avenue Intersection Improvements

<br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS
<br />The proposed improvements to the 1st Street S.W. and 43rd Avenue intersection will consist of
<br />the reconstruction of a portion of 1st Street S.W. to add left turn lanes in the east and west
<br />bound direction. 43rd Avenue will be milled and resurfaced within the intersection.
<br />Approximately 2,170 feet of 48" x 76" reinforced concrete pipe will be installed in the Indian
<br />River Farms Water Control District Canal. The work will also include a traffic signal, four -foot
<br />wide paved shoulders, curbing, and a five-foot wide sidewalk along the north side of the right-
<br />of-way, signing, and pavement markings.
<br />The bid opening was held on November 4, 2015. Eight (8) bids were received and opened. A
<br />detailed bid tabulation is on file and available for viewing in the County Engineering Division.

<br />the project with a bid totaling $2,190,962.55. Blue Goose Construction, LLC has completed
<br />various construction projects for the County Utilities Department and has performed the work
<br />in a satisfactory manner. Blue Goose Construction, LLC's bid of $2,190,962.55 was above the
<br />Engineer's estimate of $1,771,673.50
