This was agreed upon. <br />Commissioner Lyons next referred to Page 7 in regard to <br />regulating exempted signs and wished to know if a condo complex <br />with two entrances would be able to have a sign at each entrance. <br />Director Keating advised there is a special provision under <br />the permanent signage and it is in the table at the back. <br />Commissioner Lyons asked if it was felt 30 days prior is <br />sufficient time to display holiday signs, and Planner Challacombe <br />believed that Thanksgiving actually is when the Christmas season <br />starts in full swing. <br />Commissioner Lyons then questioned Page 11, 6, b. Mainte- <br />nance, which states a sign must be "free of holes" as he felt <br />that is pretty limiting. He noted some large signs have holes <br />in them to allow the wind through. <br />Director Keating realized this vague, but staff feels there <br />needs to be a little discretion; basically they are saying this <br />would be interpreted to be large holes. <br />Commissioner Lyons felt there must be a better definition, <br />and Attorney Vitunac stated he was comfortable with the phrase <br />"free of holes." He felt a judge would use the rule of reason. <br />Commissioner Bowman asked about a sign full of bullet holes, <br />for instance. <br />The Chairman stated the Attorney will clarify this language. <br />Intergovernmental Relations Director Thomas noted that he' <br />did not see anything in the ordinance re cemeteries. <br />Planner Challacombe stated that he would like to clarify <br />this on Page 16, b.
