SAY <br />14 <br />1986 <br />Boa <br />64 Pref - 05 <br />Mr. <br />Shearer stated that was because we don't want <br />to attract <br />a lot of traffic, and felt that if we would open it up to <br />offices, there would be increased traffic. <br />Commissioner Lyons wanted to know why they wanted to attract <br />traffic in.his neighborhood out SR -60. <br />Commissioner Wodtke believed that while this would take a <br />lot of effort to qualify for a special exception, there are some <br />areas that could be defined for this use. <br />Chairman Scurlock cautioned about the large developments out <br />on SR -60 and U.S. #1 and the traffic generated by those limited <br />activities, and wondered how it would impact the traffic. <br />Administrator Wright noted that staff brought this back at <br />the Board's request. <br />Robert Keating, Director of Planning 6 Development, shared <br />some of the Board's concern, but explained that the reason they <br />are considering this is that staff feels in some cases multiple <br />family is comparable to commercial. <br />Chairman Scurlock felt that was so much hog wash and has <br />never bought the idea that residential should not be placed on <br />U.S. #1 or SR -60. <br />Commissioner Lyons said he was - really not being critical of <br />the Planning Department, but felt this is a bit premature because <br />these are new neighborhoods which have not become decayed. <br />Chairman Scurlock wanted the public hearing to be held <br />because someone might change his mind, because right now he felt <br />that this really amounts to a vehicle to get around strip <br />commercial. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION.
