Fr,VAY 14 1986 eooK 6r4.cF.4t56 <br />Administrator Wright explained that they cannot do that <br />until they finalize the architect's estimate on the Sheriff's <br />Building and the Health Building. As soon as they are finalized, <br />staff will bring it back to the Board. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously <br />authorized staff to take immediate action to <br />proceed with the architect's proposal as outlined <br />for the purchase of three houses with the possibility <br />of relocating these homes. <br />SETTLEMENT OF COURTHOUSE ROOF SUIT <br />Attorney Vitunac explained that the insurance company made <br />an offer of $21,000 towards the actual cost of $39,000 to fix the <br />courthouse roof, and requested the Board's authorization to make <br />a counteroffer somewhere in the low $50,000s. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wodtke, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Lyons, the Board unanimously <br />authorized the County Attorney to make a counter- <br />offer to the insurance company in the <br />neighborhood of the low $50,000s in settlement <br />of the Courthouse roof suit. <br />REPORT ON THE STATUS OF THE NEW JAIL <br />Commissioner Lyons reported that he had visited the Jail <br />yesterday and the bars and doors are being installed. Somehow we <br />have overlooked a guard tower for the recreation area and we are <br />moving ahead with that. The architects have advised that <br />construction should be complete approximately 11 weeks after the <br />consoles arrive, so it looks like it will be completed by the end <br />of September.
