to send the community notice of any meetings and discussion re <br />their area. <br />Mrs.Georgia Allen noted that this does not affect her <br />personally, but she is in real estate and she does live in <br />Roseland and has for many years just because of the type of place <br />it is. She personally doesn't want to live in a mobile home, but <br />her daughter lives next door to her in one, and many other people <br />live in them and love it; so why can't staff leave the area <br />alone. Roseland has a special character of its own, and they <br />don't want it changed. <br />Fred Meidel informed the Board that he bought 4 lots in this <br />area because it was mixed zoning and if he didn't want to build a <br />house, he could put mobile homes on it, but now he can't. <br />Carolyn Eggert, Chairman of the Planning & Zoning Commis- <br />sion, pointed out that the Commission has to look -at these areas <br />that have some real problems, and these situations are very <br />frustrating. <br />Administrator Wright emphasized that what is brought to the <br />Board is what makes good zoning from the staff perspective; staff <br />will not bring just what is politically expedient. <br />Commissioner Wodtke did not believe he would want to <br />consider ever developing a new area that would mix single family <br />and mobile homes, but in this particular case where the people'in <br />the mobile homes own the land, it is actually a homestead, and he <br />would not have any problem with allowing them to continue to <br />exist together. <br />Administrator Wright did not see how staff can differentiate <br />based on whether the mobile home is owner occupied. He noted <br />that in many cases, the people own more than one lot. <br />Director Keating pointed out that none of the alternatives <br />staff has suggested would require anyone to change what they have <br />got; staff was just asking for some input before they expended <br />both time and money to advertise creating an ordinance.
