and he believed single family areas still have to go through all <br />the permitting stages to do this, but Attorney Barkett noted that <br />is not necessarily so because most single family docks are exempt <br />from dredge and fill permits because of their size. <br />Commissioner Bird felt when you pay a premium for a bulk - <br />headed waterfront lot, you generally want a boat, etc., and he <br />believed most of these docks are built fairly close to the <br />bulkhead, which should not present that much of a problem. <br />Commissioner Wodtke stated that he would like to see us draw <br />up an Iordinance and would be in favor of considering allowing <br />docks for single family as an accessory use without the primary <br />structure. <br />Commissioner Bowman noted that there is a vacant lot next to <br />her house, and if someone puts up a dock while no one is living <br />on the property, nobody will be there to oversee what may go on, <br />and the public will be coming in and using the dock and causing <br />problems. She was not in favor of the idea at al"l. <br />Commissioner Bird stated that he would be in favor of <br />holding the public hearing and seeing what the public has to say. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wodtke, to authorize staff to prepare <br />an ordinance with the recommended alternatives and <br />schedule a public hearing. <br />Vice Chairman Lyons expressed his opinion that we are <br />creating a problem we don't have to have. <br />THE VICE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />It was voted on with Vice Chairman Lyons and <br />Commissioner Bowman voting in opposition. <br />The Motion failed on a 2 to 2 vote. <br />33 <br />JUS! 25 1986 BOOK 64 NaUESJO <br />
