L '1s <br />IVice Chairm- <br />INDUSTRIAL REVENUE BONDS - FLORIDA CONVALESCENT CENTERS <br />Attorney Vitunac explained the proposed Resolution would <br />authorize execution of a letter of intent and inducement <br />agreement to Florida Convalescent Centers re the issuance of 4.8 <br />million industrial bonds to finance a nursing home, and if this <br />Resolution is passed today, he would like to have the public <br />hearing on the bond on July 16th at 10 o'clock A.M. to get the <br />public input. <br />Commissioner Bowman asked if there is any urgency in <br />endorsing the letter of intent today because she would like to <br />look at the company's financial statements and the Finance <br />Committee report. <br />Attorney Vitunac felt there is some urgency because it puts <br />us another week closer to the September deadline for the new tax <br />bill. He noted that Mr. Evans, President of Florida Convalescent <br />Centers, is present and can answer any questions. <br />Commissioner Bowman reiterated that she would like to see <br />their financial statements as she felt they are a pretty healthy <br />organization financially and she was not sure the County needs to <br />endorse these bonds for them. <br />Mr. Evans explained that Florida Convalescent Center is not <br />a healthy organization financially.
