<br />TILE LAND is now divided
<br />into two zones, commercial
<br />and single family residential,
<br />Developers will ask the
<br />Zoning Commission for per-
<br />mission to reduce the total
<br />commercial zoning from 60
<br />acres to a 20 acre commer-
<br />cial plot in the center of the
<br />development. Presently, U.S.
<br />I is zoned to allow Commer-
<br />cial development 600 feet
<br />deep the entire length of the
<br />highway through the pro-
<br />posed develapmrnl. .
<br />The land is known locally
<br />as the Oslo Hammack land,
<br />owned by tate Olso-Hammock
<br />Corporation, a group of cit-
<br />rusmen, for the most part.
<br />The land is presently in
<br />groves and natural habitat.
<br />The commission will also
<br />be asked to tighten zoning;
<br />restrictions on about 30 per
<br />cent of the residential, in-
<br />creasing' lot size require-
<br />ments from the 7,000 square
<br />foot allowance in R-1 to
<br />10,000 square feet in R -IA.
<br />THE COMMISSION will
<br />also be asked to rezone part
<br />of the residential land to R-2- ?
