Mrs. <br />Hamilton also pointed out that the advertisement for today's <br />Public Hearing states that it will be held at 9:45 o'clock P.M. <br />instead of A.M.: She felt that the League appreciates the <br />efforts by the Planning Dept, but feel that they were not treated <br />fairly and that perhaps a lot of this could have been handled <br />prior to.the planning being presented to the Commission. She <br />urged the Board to consider these issues very thoughtfully in <br />their decision today. <br />Commissioner Lyons questioned whether the Public Meeting <br />could continue seeing that the wrong time had been published in <br />the newspaper, and Attorney Vitunac advised that it could <br />continue since today's meeting is almost a courtesy meeting to <br />obtain the residents' input and will -not result in an ordinance <br />changing the land use or zoning of the area. He asked Mrs. <br />Hamilton how she and the others in attendance found out that the <br />meeting was scheduled for the morning rather than in the evening, <br />and Mrs. Hamilton said she had called several people after <br />B P: <br />checking with the County offices. <br />Mr. Shearer advised that the Planning Dept. also telephoned <br />many people to notify them of the typo in the newspaper. <br />Attorney Vitunac asked how many people in the audience were <br />here from the Winter Beach area, and virtually the entire <br />audience raised their hands. Based on the number of people in <br />attendance this morning, the County Attorney felt that the <br />mistake was apparent to most everyone as the County has never <br />scheduled a meeting for that late in the evening. <br />Commissioner Lyons was disturbed that there are some <br />feelings that the Planning staff was trying to snooker someone, <br />and wished to state that staff just doesn't operate that way. As <br />far as the land use definitions are concerned, those definitions <br />and land use maps are public to everyone and people have full <br />45 <br />
