J U L 2 3. 10j` -j+ BOOK 65 PAGE ® <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wodtke, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Chairman Scurlock abstaining) recommended staff's <br />recommendation for RS -3 zoning and LD -1 land use <br />designation for the area bounded by Kings Highway, <br />North and South Winter Beach Roads and the Lateral G <br />Canal, excluding the Smith property. <br />The Vice Chairman next called for a Motion on the area <br />between Cemetery Road south of South Winter Beach Road and west <br />of the Lateral G Canal to Kings Highway. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Chairman Scurlock abstaining) recommended that the <br />property between Cemetery Road, south of South Winter <br />Beach Road and west of the Lateral G Canal to Kings <br />Highway remain at LD -2 and RS -4 as in Alternative #1. <br />The Board then discussed the Smith property west of the <br />canal, and Commissioner Bowman felt that parcel was closest to <br />LD -1 and RS -3, and assumed the canal would be the buffer. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wodtke, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Chairman Scurlock abstaining) recommended retaining the <br />LD -2 land use designation and RS -6 zoning for the <br />Smith property surrounded by the Kiwanis-Hobart Park. <br />The Board then discussed the area between Cemetery Road to <br />South Winter Beach Road, east of the Lateral G Canal. <br />Commissioner Bowman understood that according to Mr. <br />Mooney's map, there are only 8 people in that area who are really <br />concerned about what happens here as opposed to over 100 <br />residents who want to keep the entire area at'3 upa. <br />49 <br />FA <br />
