SECTION 01050 <br /> FIELD ENGINEERING AND LAYOUT <br /> 1.1 GENERAL <br /> A. The CONTRACTOR will furnish all construction staking for the project. All <br /> staking from control will be under the supervision of a Florida Registered Land <br /> Surveyor. <br /> B. Develop and make all detail surveys and measurements needed for <br /> construction including but not limited to, slope stakes, batter boards, piling <br /> layouts and all other working lines, elevations and cut sheets. <br /> C. Keep a transit and leveling instrument on the site at all times and a skilled <br /> instrument man available whenever necessary for layout of the Work. <br /> D. Provide all material required for benchmarks, control points, batter boards, <br /> grade stakes, and other items. <br /> E. Be solely responsible for all locations, dimensions and levels. No data other <br /> than written orders of the ENGINEER shall justify departure from the <br /> dimensions and levels required by the Drawings. <br /> F. Safeguard all points, stakes, grademarks, monuments and benchmarks made <br /> or established on the Work, and reestablish same, if disturbed. Rectify all <br /> Work improperly installed because of not maintaining, not protecting or <br /> removing without authorization such established points, stakes, marks and <br /> monuments. <br /> G. When requested by the ENGINEER, provide such facilities and assistance as <br /> may be necessary for the ENGINEER to check line and grade points placed by <br /> the CONTRACTOR. Do no excavation or embankment work until all <br /> cross-sectioning necessary for determining pay quantities has been completed <br /> and checked by the ENGINEER. <br /> H. The cost of performing engineering and layout work described above shall be <br /> included in the contract unit prices for the various items of work to which it is <br /> incidental. No separate payment will be made for surveying or engineering. <br /> 1.2 SURVEY WORK AND QUALIFICATIONS OF SURVEYOR <br /> A. Prior to commencing work, the CONTRACTOR shall satisfy himself as to the <br /> accuracy of all survey and existing site information as indicated in the Contract <br /> Documents. Immediately notify the ENGINEER upon discovery of any errors, <br /> inaccuracies or omissions in the survey data.
