BALCZUN <br />This Agreement made this 22nd day of August <br />1986, by and between Indian River bounty ("County, 1840 <br />25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida 32960, telephone number <br />(305) 567-8000, and Charles P. Balczun ("Administrator"), <br />919 Hamilton Street, Wausau, Wisconsin 54401, telepho-ne <br />number (715) 847-5300, <br />W I T N E S S E T H: <br />WHEREAS the County desires to employ Administrator as <br />the County Administrator for Indian River County as an <br />employee of the County, as opposed to an independent <br />contractor; and <br />WHEREAS the details of his employment need to be <br />memorialized in a written document, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the <br />premises and other good and valuable consideration, the <br />County and Administrator agree as follows: <br />A. County hereby offers and Administrator hereby <br />accepts employment as Administrator of Indian River County, <br />Florida pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth <br />herein. <br />B. Administrator shall be compensated at an annual <br />salary of $58,500.00 effective on the date of employment. <br />Administrator's salary shall be increased after six months <br />by not less than the maximum percentage increase authorized <br />by Florida law for County Commissioners' raises effective <br />October 1, 1986, but in no case by an amount less than the <br />percentage amount granted to other employees of the County. <br />Thereafter, on each October 1 Administrator shall receive <br />the same percentage raise as the County Commissioners <br />receive but not to be less than the percentage amount <br />granted to other employees of the County. <br />C. County shall pay the reasonable costs of moving the <br />personal property and household goods of Charles P. Balczun <br />from Wausau, Wisconsin to Indian River County. This payment <br />shall not exceed the lowest of several estimates to be <br />provided by responsible moving companies. <br />D. Administrator shall receive a monthly allowance of <br />$200.00 payable in arrears effective on the date of <br />employment as an automobile allowance. Such amount may be <br />increased by mutual consent o.f the parties hereto but shall <br />not be less than automobile allowances paid to other <br />employees of the County. In the event Administrator travels <br />by automobile outside the County on official business, he <br />shall receive reimbursement at the rate of $0.20 per mile or <br />the use of a County vehicle, at his discretion. <br />E. This Agreement shall be effective from <br />Administrator's first day of work in September, 1986 through <br />September 30, 1988 and shall remain in full force and effect <br />thereafter for additional one-year periods unless <br />terminated. Either party may terminate this Agreement at <br />the end of the contract date by serving notice of <br />termination on the other not less than one hundred eighty <br />days before the termination date of the contract.
