_I <br />AUG <br />13 1986 <br />Box 65 <br />F� E 4 6 <br />refer to our <br />letter and the deductions which we outlined <br />in <br />our letter of August 5, 1986. <br />We will follow the contract specifications and documents <br />and provide the labor and material and performance bonds upon <br />receipt of a contract for the proposed work. Please adjust <br />the contract amount to $97,731.00 (Ninety-seven thousand seven <br />hundred thirty-one and 00/100 dollars). This amount will cover <br />the project as we have discussed it with you deleting specifics <br />which we have gone over as of August 12, 1986. <br />Since ly, <br />J. ennylker <br />re <br />siden <br />Certifie General Contractor <br />Commissioner Bird explained that after the County budgeted <br />$100,000 for the construction of this maintenance building and <br />the low bid came in at $141,000, Attorney Vitunac was authorized <br />to renegotiate a price with Mr. Walker to bring it within budget, <br />and they have agreed to revise the scope of work and decrease the <br />contract amount to $97,731. Commissioner Bird recommended that <br />the Board accept the proposal and authorize the J. B. Walker <br />Construction, Inc. to proceed with construction. <br />Commissioner Wodtke asked what was deleted from the scope of <br />work, and Commissioner Bird explained that the building was <br />somewhat reduced in size and additional reductions came from site <br />work, automatic fuel dispensing system, etc. <br />Commissioner Wodtke asked if the facility would be adequate <br />for the next five years, and Commissioner Bird felt it would be. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously <br />accepted the bid in the amount of $97,731 from <br />J. B. Walker Construction, Inc. for the construction <br />of the maintenance building at the Sandridge Golf <br />Course contract amount. <br />CONTRACT AGREEMENT IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK <br />64 <br />
