AUG 2 6 IW6 BooK 65 u1 -j 5? <br />problem at 4th Street and 43rd Avenue as well, and staff has been <br />checking the visibility at that corner. <br />Commissioner Wodtke suggested that we ask the Sheriff to <br />patrol that area more closely, especially 8th Street which is <br />prone to faster speeds. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wodtke, that the Board request the <br />Transportation Planning Committee to take another <br />look at the main intersections on 43rd Avenue and <br />the speed limit on 43rd Avenue between SR -60 to <br />4th Street. <br />Under discussion, Director Davis emphasized that we need to <br />expand Kings Highway by moving it west, and replacing the narrow <br />bridges at the intersections. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. The Motion <br />was voted on and carried unanimously. <br />ASSISTANT PUBLIC DEFENDERS' CONTRACTS <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 8/20/86: <br />TO: The Board of County Commissioners <br />DATE: August 20, 1986 <br />SUBJECT: As ant Public Defenders' Contracts - <br />J so edman and Dewey T. Wilson <br />CAs tant County Attorney <br />Elton Schwarz, Public .Defender for the Nineteenth Judicial <br />Circuit, has submitted a revised contract for Assistant <br />Public Defender Jason Hedman and a new contract for a second <br />Assistant Public Defender, Dewey T. O'Kelley, who will also <br />be assigned to handle misdemeanors.
