Baird <br />0MB Director <br />DATE: September 2, 1986 <br />FILE.- <br />SUBJECT: <br />ILE: <br />SUBJECT: Permission to Obtain a Quote <br />from the Florida League of <br />Cities on County Insurance <br />REFERENCES: <br />The majority of the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners insurance <br />policies expire October 1,.1986. The County's multi -peril, excess liability, public = <br />officials and employees liability, boiler and machinery, and builder's risk fnsurance-_ -_ <br />on the jail are all purchased through the Arden -Waddell insurance agency. Air. Arden <br />has informed me in writfng that they will not be providing a renewal proposal for <br />the above lfsted insurance policies. <br />I have contacted the Florida League of Cities and they are interested in quoting <br />all the expired insurance with the exception of the boiler and machinery policy. In- <br />view of the insurance market, I am requesting permission from the Honorable Board of <br />County Commissioners to obtain a proposal from the Florida League of Cities as soon <br />as possible. <br />The machinery and boiler insurance can still be obtained through the Hartford <br />Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company, we will just have to go through a <br />different agent. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously <br />authorized OMB Director Baird to obtain a _ <br />quote from the Florida League of Cities on <br />County insurance and an additional agent for the <br />machinery and boiler insurance. <br />CONTRACT WITH COMMUNICATIONS WORKERS OF AMERICA <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously <br />authorized the Chairman to sign the 1986-87 contract <br />with the Communications Workers of America. <br />CONTRACT WILL BE PUT ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK WHEN <br />FULLY EXECUTED AND RECEIVED <br />47 <br />SEP M6 BOOP( I5 Fb,rF 58'5 <br />
