S E P 2 1956 BOOK 65 PDGF 588 <br />the position was that of Bob Komarinetz, who presently lives in <br />Palm Beach Gardens and has 20 years experience, 11 of which were <br />with General Electric in managing two of their golf courses. He <br />is very close to becoming a Master Professional with PGA. AFter <br />discussing salary, he came up with a recommendation to Personnel <br />that this individual be paid a base salary of $30,000, in <br />addition to a percentage of revenues received through green fees, <br />pro shop sales, and golf lessons. If he had proceeded in a way <br />that was contrary to the direction that he was given by the <br />Board, he apologized, but pointed out that he has spent a great <br />deal of time and effort on this matter and relied on his <br />experience in the business. <br />Chairman Scurlock believed all along that the manager of the <br />golf course would report through the Division head to the County <br />Administrator just like any other department head, and <br />Commissioner Bird i-ndicated that might work out. <br />After lengthy discussion regarding the amount of base salary <br />and revenues received from sales and lessons, Commissioner Bird <br />-.-felt it was important to get this person on board as soon as <br />possible to work with the architect on the final interior design <br />of the clubhouse, furnishings, carpeting, etc., and work with the <br />greens superintendent on some decisions that have to be made on <br />-.the final touches of getting the golf course ready for play. He <br />emphasized that Mr. Komarinetz' first step will be to sit down <br />with the greens superintendent and come up with a line item <br />budget of how they are going to spend the money that we have to <br />plug into the budget for the next fiscal year. On the other <br />side, they will come up with a proposed budget of how they are <br />going to generate the revenue that will be need to meet that <br />operating budget. In addition, they will write job descriptions <br />for all personnel at the golf course. <br />Commissioner Lyons just want to make sure that we have <br />someone on board who is a good manager and worries about the <br />s0 <br />
