He stated that <br />he has observed at least three brands of road graders, and they <br />are not in any way compatible, which makes maintenance extremely <br />difficult. He believed the county is being pennywise and pound <br />foolish and felt money could be saved by taking a real in-depth <br />look at equipment buying. <br />Commissioner Bird pointed out that you cannot very well <br />standardize and have competitive bidding which is required by <br />law. <br />In further discussion, it was noted that we have told the <br />Purchasing Manager to standardize our specs. <br />Mr. Sink inquired if there isn't a state agency that will <br />---assist small counties with purchasing equipment, and he was <br />advised that there is a state contract and we do utilize it. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner LYONS, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously closed <br />the public hearing. <br />Attorney Vitunac at this point referred back to the Motion <br />already passed by the Board adopting the tentative millages and <br />budgets for the taxing funds and stated that he now concurs with <br />former attorneys that we do need to adopt the millage and then <br />the budgets by separate motions and resolutions and that applies <br />even for the tentative hearing. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wodtke, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously approved <br />24 <br />
