This agreement <br />contains the following: <br />1) Preliminary Phase - prepare a conceptual master plan for the <br />park and a grant application for D.N.R. F.R.D,A.P. funding. <br />2) Financial Feasibility Phase - to study "user fee" feasibility <br />for this or other recreational facilities. <br />3) Final Design Phase - to prepare construction drawings and <br />contract documents. <br />The Parks and Recreation Committee reviewed this agreement September <br />11, 1986. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />Compensation in the amount of $6,680.00 for the Preliminary Phase <br />has been negotiated. This amount is approximately 15% of the cost for <br />total design based on a $500,000.00 construction cost. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends the Chairman be authorized to sign the agreement. <br />Funding to be from Parks Trust Fund #113-210-572-033.13. The balance in <br />this account is $128,813.00. <br />Public Works Director Jim Davis advised that the DNR grant <br />application time will expire on October 31, 1986, and the first <br />thing we must do is apply for the DNR/FRDAP funding. <br />Commissioner Bird asked if the timeframe would allow the <br />architect to present his preliminary phase design to the <br />Recreation Committee and the Board of County Commissioners before <br />e <br />we submit the grant application, and Director Davis confirmed <br />that it would because the architect has agreed to attend three <br />35 <br />SEP 16 1986 BOOK 65 FAu 768 <br />
