he never has had the opportunity to work with such a gorgeous <br />piece of land. <br />Everyone congratulated Commissioner Bird on his work in <br />bringing about this golf course. <br />TROPICAL AVENUE MAINTENANCE MAP <br />Commissioner Bowman noted that Tropical Avenue is designated <br />on the County Road Map, and it is a 70' R/W extending between <br />84th St. and 83rd Place. The County used to grade this and <br />maintain the swales, but it is now ankle deep in water and there <br />are practically no swales. Director Davis has suggested that if <br />we could get it back on the maintenance schedule, we could take <br />care of those people. <br />Chairman Scurlock asked if we need some assessment to bring <br />it up to standards and then put it on the maintenance schedule, <br />and Director Davis believed one solution would be to use the R/W <br />for drainage only and not have a road there. He felt that we <br />will encounter some resistance no matter what we do, but all the <br />properties have access.to other roads in the area that the county <br />— d oe-s ma-in t a-'rn . <br />Commissioner Bowman believed there is a need for a road. <br />Commissioner Lyons felt Public Works Director Davis should <br />investigate whether people really have a requirement for the road <br />or do they face on 83rd, etc. <br />Chairman Scurlock authorized Director Davis to proceed and <br />investigate the situation. <br />STATEMENT BY COMMISSIONER LYONS <br />Commissioner Lyons noted that this is the last regular <br />County Commission meeting that he will attend as a Commissioner <br />and he wanted to thank the Commissioners for their patience and <br />cooperation during all this time.
