JAIL 1� A87 <br />BOOK 66 F'tA 900 <br />Commissioner Bowman was concerned about this area designated <br />as a commercial node because it is is an extremely wet area and, <br />in tact, it may come under the new proposed regulations for <br />isolated wetlands. <br />Director Keating advised that they would take care of any <br />conditions as to that during site plan approval. <br />Chairman Scurlock opened the Public Hearing and asked if <br />anyone wished to be heard in this matter. <br />Fred Mensing, resident of Roseland, agreed with Commissioner <br />Bowman in regard to the wetlands area and felt the node also <br />would create more traffic on this road which serves as a feeder <br />road to the 1-95. He asked that the County freeze the <br />commercial development to what is there now, which is one <br />convenience store, until such time as a plan for getting traffic <br />off the feeder is developed. <br />Commissioner Bird recalled that at one time we had literally <br />miles of commercially zoned property on both sides of CR -510 and <br />CR -512, but when the Comp Plan was developed, all of that was <br />consolidated down to this 50 -acre commercial node. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously closed <br />the Public Hearing. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Eggert, that the Board adopt Ordinance <br />87-4, approving the County -initiated request to <br />establish boundaries for the CR.510/512 Intersection <br />Commercial Node. <br />Under discussion, Commissioner Bowman stated that she <br />preferred to workshop this again, and Richard Shearer, Chief of <br />Long -Range Planning, advised that while these boundaries can be <br />52 <br />
