JAN 1 �23 1987 -7 <br />Boos ,:9 4 <br />Commissioner Eggert suggested that we table this item until <br />a land study is done. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bowman, that the Board table this <br />matter for a month until we get further information <br />and determine our alternatives. <br />Commissioner Bird noted that the Winter Beach people have <br />been very patient in sitting here all morning, and felt that in <br />order to move this a step further along, he would prefer a <br />stronger Motion that would reaffirm our position on making this <br />land available to them and then turn this matter over to staff to <br />f <br />work out the logistics of trying to find a piece of property to <br />which we can transfer the reverter. <br />Commissioner Eggert did not wish to change her Motion. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. The Motion <br />was voted on and carried by a vote of 4-1, Commissioner <br />Bird dissenting. <br />Chairman Scurlock explained for the benefit of those people <br />in attendance that the County is thinking about acquiring 20-40 <br />acres off of Oslo Road for utilities, etc., and the Motion is <br />that we are going to explore the possibility of seeing if the <br />government will allow us to acquire that as a trade for, the <br />subject property. If that is acceptable, then we will move ahead <br />and it will come back within a month's time for the Board to make <br />a determination. <br />Commissioner Bowman stated that in any event, there is no <br />--- fin-te-ration of wiping out the cemetery. <br />Leon Blanton, 2626 27th Street, Chairman of the Winter Beach <br />Cemetery Association, explained that they have worked with the <br />County for a long period of time on this matter and have been <br />96 <br />
