OMB Director Baird advised that he has an updated version of <br />the total cost which he will put on next week's agenda. This is <br />all miscellaneous equipment, and the Board authorized staff to ___ <br />start bidding on these items. <br />Commissioner Eggert asked if we have the whole picture yet <br />of everything that is needed. <br />Chairman Scurlock confirmed that we do, but we are short <br />about $40,000;. therefore, before we start awarding additional <br />bids, he felt we should determine if we are going to come up with <br />an additional $40,000, and if not, determine what we are going to <br />cut out. <br />Commissioner Eggert asked if the items we are considering <br />are budgeted items and if we have the. money for them. <br />OMB Director Baird confirmed that these are essential <br />budgeted items; we aren't anywhere near the total cost of <br />equipment yet; and we do have the money for them. <br />Commissioner Bird felt that some of these items will be <br />offset by the donations coming in. <br />Discussion ensued re the amount of donations received so <br />far, and Director Baird advised that about $3,500 of donations <br />have been received in addition to the original $10,000 donation. <br />Chairman Scurlock pointed out that the brochures asking for <br />donations cost $3,200. <br />Commissioner Eggert asked it we have a list of equipment <br />needed even if it hasn't been put out for bid yet,,and this was <br />confirmed. <br />Questions continued as to items adding up to $40,000, where <br />we come up with the shortfall, etc., and Director Baird advised <br />that the shortfall is based on our anticipated cost to complete <br />the project, and he will go over this at the next meeting.
