AUTHORIZATION OF SPECIAL ELECTION COSTS <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 1/21/87: <br />TO: DON C. SCURLOCK, JR. <br />FROM: ANN ROBINSON <br />DATE: JANUARY 21, 1987 FILE: <br />SUBJECT: SPECIAL ELECTION COSTS <br />REFERENCES: <br />On January 20,1987, the BCC voted to put $3,000 into the <br />elections budget for printing costs necessary for the special <br />election on March 10. <br />If you vote to put the tourist tax on the ballot at your <br />meeting of January 27, please remember to authorize the rest <br />of the money to cover the expenses of the special election; <br />that amount is $12,000 ($15,000 minus $3,000). <br />cc/ <br />I plan to put it into a separate account -3&T-700-519-036.74 <br />to make it easier to keep track of the expenses for the <br />special election. <br />Thank you. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Wheeler, that the Board approve <br />an -additional $12,000 for a total of $15,000 to <br />cover the expenses of the special election; monies <br />to be put into account 001-700-519-036.74. <br />Under discussion, Commissioner Wheeler stated it was his <br />understanding that we are looking at a total cost of $15,000 and <br />that the municipalities would be contributing somewhere in the <br />area of $4,000. <br />Supervisor Robinson explained that while the Board approved <br />charging the cities <br />25 cents per registered <br />voter to <br />cover their <br />JANr� <br />'1987 <br />68 <br />B©o67 <br />I �,t <br />
