self-insurance trust fund effective July 1, 1987, and <br />asked that he do everything possible to help them find <br />other insurance. <br />COUNTY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING ROOF <br />Attorney Vitunac reviewed the following memo recommending <br />acceptance of the offer to settle our claim for replacement of <br />the Administration Building roof: <br />TO: The Board of County Commissioners <br />DATE: January 28, 1987 <br />SUBJECT: Cgimty Administration Building Roof <br />FROM: J P. Wilson <br />nt County Attorney <br />Dolores Cranston, Adjustor for Travelers Insurance Company, <br />has tendered an offer to settle our claim for replacement of <br />the County Administration Building roof. Travelers has <br />offered to pay $96,850.00 for replacement of the roof, said <br />figure representing 650 of the $149,000.00 estimate <br />submitted by Lucas Waterproofing for replacement of the <br />roof. Travelers has also offered to pay 65% of the cost of. <br />replacing any materials damaged by the leaking roof, if and <br />when such damage is discovered upon replacing the roof. The <br />65% reimbursement figure is based upon 3.5 years <br />depreciation of the roof over the 5 -year warranty period and <br />is the same amount paid by Travelers for replacement of the <br />Courthouse roof after a lawsuit was filed in that matter. <br />am requesting that the Board consider this settlement <br />offer and, if it is unsuitable, authorize this office to - <br />file a lawsuit immediately, e <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wheeler, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Eggert, the Board unanimously accepted the <br />above settlement offer and authorized the Chairman to <br />sign the Final Release. <br />39 <br />FEB 3 197 BOOK ,�%p <br />
