PRESENTATION OF NEWLY PUBLISHED IRC SOIL SURVEY <br />David Gunter, Soil Conservation, gave an excellent <br />presentation of the newly published Indian River County Soil <br />Survey. <br />Chairman Scurlock commended the Soil Conservation Dept. for <br />their work and efficiency in this matter, and Mr. Gunter thanked <br />him on behalf of the Department, but felt they really did not do <br />the public relations job that is needed. He expected, however, <br />that more money will need to be budgeted as more and more people <br />discover where their department is located. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bowman, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Eggert, the Board unanimously accepted <br />the IRC Soil Survey, presented by the Soil Conservation <br />Dept. <br />SOIL SURVEY IS ON FILE IN THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OFFICE <br />IRC BID #321 - FIRE EXTINGUISHER MAINTENANCE <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 2/27/87: <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />THRU: Jo Baird <br />Director, Budget Office <br />DATE: Feb. 27, 1987 FILE: <br />SUBJECT: IRC #321 -Fire Extinguisher <br />Maintenance <br />FROM: REFERENCES: <br />Carolyn odrich, Manager <br />Purchasing Department <br />At the Board meeting of December 23, 1986, further information <br />was requested on the following items. <br />(1) Whether or not new or recycled powder is used by <br />the bidders in recharging of portable extinguishers. <br />(2) The manufacturer or brand name of the material <br />used in recharging. <br />(3) A further cost comparison of the bids. <br />(4) A review of the specifications to ensure compliance <br />with the State Fire Marshalls rules. <br />MAR 10 1 58 BOOK 67 Fvur 592 <br />
