Fire Marshal's Rules and Regulations. <br />Purchasing Manager Carolyn Goodrich advised that after <br />extensive review by staff and representatives of the South County <br />Fire District, staff's recommendation remains the same, to award <br />the bid to the overall low bidder, All American Fire and Safety, <br />Inc. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bowman, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously approved <br />staff's recommendation and awarded IRC Bid #321 for <br />fire extinguisher maintenance to the overall low <br />bidder, All American Fire and Safety, Inc. <br />Chris Prewitt of American Safety Products of the Treasure <br />Coast pointed out that on the original bid, they were the only <br />firm that met all the bid specs and State law. After the <br />original bids were received, the County sent out a letter <br />allowing everyone else to comply with the specs. Furthermore, in <br />the last bidding, his firm was the only one to list brand names <br />of equipment and powder, and nobody complied with that <br />whatsoever. In addition, his firm was the only one to mention <br />the 6 -year maintenance that is required.
