Baird <br />OMB Director <br />ACCOUNT NUMBER <br />004-205-515-066.41 <br />004-205-515-034.63 <br />004-205-581-099.91 <br />EXPLANATION <br />DATE: March 24, 1987 <br />SUBJECT: BUDGET AMENDMENT <br />TO PURCHASE <br />ACCOUNT TITLE <br />Office Furn. & Equipment 4,095 <br />Maint.-Off ice Equipment 954 <br />Reserve for Contingency <br />DECREASE <br />5,049 <br />The copy machine in the Planning and Zoning Department is beyond <br />repair and they are requesting permission to purchase a replacement. <br />Funds need to be transferred from contingencies since this was an <br />unanticipated capital purchase. <br />Commissioner Bird wanted to know who made the decision this <br />machine is beyond repair, and if it actually is, he would request <br />the Purchasing Department to do some real negotiating on this <br />item as the market for copy machines is very competitive. <br />Chairman Scurlock wished to know why we are taking the funds <br />from Reserve for Contingency instead of salary accounts since we <br />have had some turnover there. <br />OMB Director Baird noted that he is not allowed to transfer <br />money from salary accounts unless he brings it back to the Board. <br />He stated that he can do it either way, but would rather see it <br />out of contingencies. <br />18 <br />
