APR 7 1987 <br />BOOK 67 PAGE 13 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wheeler, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Eggert, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Resolution 87-35 endorsing legislation as requested <br />by Martin County. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 87-35 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO THE LEGIS- <br />LATIVE DELEGATION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, IN <br />SUPPORT OF STATE FUNDING OF COMPENSATION AND COSTS <br />FOR ATTORNEYS APPOINTED FOR INDIGENT DEFENDANTS. <br />WHEREAS, the state court system is and ought to be an <br />obligation of the State of Florida; <br />WHEREAS, in spite of this state obligation, the <br />counties of Florida are required to fund certain significant <br />operational costs of the state court system; and <br />WHEREAS, a Bill has been drafted to correct this <br />situation: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: <br />The local legislative delegation of Indian River County <br />is respectfully requested to lend its support to a Bili <br />similar to, the one attached, which would amend §925.035, <br />§925.036, and §27.53, Florida Statutes, by making the State, <br />rather than the counties, responsible for certain costs of <br />prosecution. <br />The foregoing resolution was offered by <br />Commissioner Wheeler who moved its adoption. The <br />motion was seconded by Commissioner Eggert and, <br />upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: <br />Chairman Don C. Scurlock, Jr. Aye <br />Vice -Chairman Margaret C.
