P R O C L A M A T I O N <br />WHEREAS, MARGARET INGRAM is a native of Indian River County, <br />and is a product of the Indian River.County School system; and <br />WHEREAS, MARGARET INGRAM has been a teacher for eight years <br />in the local school system, and has taught language arts at <br />Beachland Elementary School for the past one and one-half years; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, MARGARET INGRAM was named Teacher of the Year for <br />the Indian River County School system and was selected) from 67 <br />other county school representatives as Florida Teacher of the <br />Year - 1988; and <br />WHEREAS, MARGARET INGRAM will represent Florida in the 1988 <br />National Teacher of the Year competition; and <br />WHEREAS, MARGARET INGRAM has been involved in the afternoon <br />Tutorial Program assisting students who have difficulty with <br />daily studies in school; and <br />WHEREAS, MARGARET INGRAM has initiated a local) program <br />called Neighbors Involved in Kid's Education (NIKE), which is <br />offered to children in the fourth through eighth grades giving <br />them a chance to build on skills they learn in school; and <br />WHEREAS, MARGARET INGRAM obtained her Bachelor lof Arts <br />degree from Florida Atlantic University in 1979; a masters degree <br />from Nova University in 1981, and she completed one year on her <br />doctoral program in 1984; and <br />WHEREAS, MARGARET INGRAM is a leader in her profession and <br />continually strives to improve herself, being actively involved <br />in the local teachers union where she has served on the <br />bargaining team; and <br />WHEREAS, MARGARET INGRAM sat on various school andldistrict <br />committees and is currently a member of the .District Textbook <br />Evaluation Committee for social studies and Florida history; and <br />WHEREAS, MARGARET INGRAM has consistently worked to help <br />students reach their full potential intellectually, emotionally, <br />and culturally; and <br />WHEREAS, MARGARET INGRAM has been an active leader in her <br />church and community, presently serving as an elected official on <br />the Indian River County Hospital District Board of Trust6e: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Florida that MARGARET <br />INGRAM be recognized by the residents of Indian River County for <br />the prestigious honor she has received, and for the tremendous <br />effort she has demonstrated in guiding children in learning and <br />self-motivation abilities. <br />Adopted this 2nd day of June, 1987. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTYI 'FLORIDA <br />Z_:)� C_ Z4��� <br />Don C.
