Keat'ng, CP OF THE ANNUAL OEDP REPORT <br />Director, Community Development TO THE ECONOMIC DEVELOP- <br />MENT ADMINISTRATION <br />FROM: Cheri Boudreaux &-SO REFERENCES: <br />Staff Planner, Long -Range Planning <br />It is requested that the data herein presented be given formal <br />consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at their <br />regular meeting of June 23, 1987. <br />DESCRIPTION & CONDITIONS <br />On June 4, 1987, the Overall Economic Development Plan (OEDP) <br />Committee met to discuss a draft annual report on the County's <br />OEDP. The Annual OEDP Report is due to the Economic Development <br />Administration by June 30, 1987. This report is required in order <br />for Indian River County to maintain its "redevelopment area" <br />status and its eligibility to apply for federal technical <br />assistance funds. <br />The Annual OEDP Report must include the following items: <br />1) A review of past year's accomplishments; <br />2) Report on any significant changes in the economy and its <br />development potentials; and <br />3) An update of the County's development strategies and <br />course of action planned for the coming two years. This <br />shall include any projects that may require EDA financial <br />assistance. <br />The County planning staff prepared a draft of the final annual <br />report and presented the draft for the Committee's review at the <br />June 4 meeting. The Committee felt that no additional meetings <br />were necessary, and they approved the draft with minor changes. <br />As amended and approved by the OEDP Committee, the annual report <br />reflects the past year's accomplishments and minor changes to the <br />OEDP. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Based on the OEDP Committee's review, staff recommends that the <br />Board of County Commissioners approve the Annual OEDP Report and <br />authorize staff to transmit the report to the Economic Development <br />Administration. <br />ON MOTION BY Commissioner Wheeler, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Eggert, the Board unanimously approved <br />the Annual Overall Economic Development Plan and <br />►JUN 1 5 BOOK L68 �AuL <br />
