71987 BOOK <br />Alternative No. 1 - authorize the consultant to expand the Master Plan to <br />utilize the 80 acre site at this time for a not -to -exceed cost of $2,000. <br />Alternative No. 2 - Delay the Master Plan expansion until the site is acquired. <br />RECOMMENDATION AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends we delay the Master Plan Extension until the site is acquired. <br />Once the property is acquired, staff requests permission to authorize the re- <br />design. <br />Commissioner Eggert understood that the Utilities Department <br />has found out that their needs are a little different from what <br />they originally thought in terms of where the wells had to be <br />located, and asked Commissioner Bird if he was 100% sold on this <br />location for a park if it is only used as a park and not in <br />conjunction with utilities. <br />Commissioner Bird felt the location could stand on its own <br />as an excellent park site, but if Utilities can use it, that's <br />fine. <br />Public Works Director Jim Davis advised that the appraisal <br />they received last week only covers a 40 -acre parcel since it was <br />ordered prior to the Finance Advisory Committee's recommendation <br />of an 80 -acre site. He felt the additional 40 acres would have a <br />great impact on the appraisal due to the commercial zoning on <br />that corner. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bowman, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously approved <br />staff's request as set out in the above memo, and <br />authorized staff to expand the appraisal to cover <br />80 -acres. <br />G.
