M <br />M <br />Attorney Sundstrom advised that he is saying that he has not <br />really formulated his recommendation to his client, and that is <br />why they have asked the Circuit Court for guidance. <br />Commissioner Bird noted that we have a wastewater project <br />that is badly needed in our county that is being delayed and we <br />don't need to be spending thousands of dollars in court. He <br />wished to know if there is some way that we can get together <br />between Attorney Sundstrom and his client and the county and our <br />staff and resolve these differences where they are suing and we <br />are counter -suing. Possibly this is an oversimplification of a <br />complex matter, but he wished to know if Attorney Sundstrom could <br />come to the county with a document saying this is what they think <br />should happen. Is there some room for negotiation? <br />Attorney Sundstrom stated that the answer is emphatically <br />yes. His client does not want to be here. Florida Land's <br />position is that it simply wants to do what is in its best <br />business interests and carry out its obligation to its investors. <br />They do not want to be in the middle of a scrimmage that is going <br />out of control. <br />want. <br />Commissioner Eggert asked exactly what Florida Land does <br />Attorney Sundstrom stated they either want to be left alone <br />to provide service to Hawk's Nest and carry on their utility <br />business or recover their mortgage and get out. Florida Land is <br />involved in hundreds of million dollar deals around the state, <br />and it really can't support all the expenses involved with <br />fighting this, i.e., lawyers, hydrologists, etc. They would like <br />to end this. <br />Attorney Vitunac commented that they say they want to be <br />left alone. He would assume that they want a franchise to <br />continue operating their utility in this county. <br />Attorney Sundstrom did not believe they need it. <br />Attorney Vitunac stressed that he needed to know precisely <br />JUL 1 .i9�7 59 BOOK 811 <br />
